The chair is designed as a versatile object of desire. It is a comfortable and multifunctional chair when used, a smooth and decorative freestanding sculpture when not used. The chair is a place to retreat to, to snuggle into, to relax, to read, to write, to dream or even sleep. If not in use, all these functions are invisible. The chair then becomes a sculpture, a smooth sensual shape that is in sharp contrast with its surroundings. The exterior is of a smooth mahogany; the inside is of black padded velvet. If closed, it looks like an oyster lying on a steel plate. The shell is lifted up by means of a hydraulic system, mastered by a foot pedal. The oval shell folds open into a comfortable armchair, in which four handy tools are incorporated: a flexible reading light, a cup and plate holder, an electricity connection for lap-top and a pillow as extra head and / or armrest. The open shell offers the inhabitant a soft and luxury comfort, a cocoon in the large space.
